Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital

IN LOVING MEMORY: LOUIE V

CEO & Local Ambassador

With great heartbreak and sadness, on July 15, 2020, our Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital staff said goodbye to the greatest mascot and most awesome cat who blessed us, blessed our clients, walked our hallways with satisfaction, with the sense of belonging, and with the sense of knowing that this hospital and us all, were his. Louie first came to us by walking in through an opened door. For weeks, staff kept putting him back outside, only to have him walk back in. So, officially on May 10, 2012, they gave up and let him become a permanent resident of Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital. Louie would often sit at the dog door and greet clients and their dogs, often confusing them of why he would do this. Louie often would jump up and lay down in a client's lap while they were sitting on the couch in our lobby, stroking his back.   RIP: May 10, 2012-July 15, 2020.  IN OUR HEARTS May 10, 2012-FOREVER. We LOVE you, LOUIE, YOU ARE the GREATEST!

Valerie and her dog.jpeg

VALERIE

Veterinary Assistant

"I started to work in the pet industry 15 years ago.  I've worked most of those years at small animal practices including an emergency veterinary hospital, but also at a horse racing facility.  I've also had the opportunity to work for a well renowned pet food brand for 6 years.  I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and am the youngest of 2.  I do own a pet, Odin.  He is a 9-year old Scottish Terrier (and I have adopted a new rescue puppy here in NC).  Some of my hobbies include working out. I do enjoy being outdoors in nature (beach, hiking) and also taking pictures." In 2021, Valerie was working and assisting in surgery at the same small animal hospital as Dr. Rosado.  When she found out that Dr. Rosado was relocating to our hospital and that we were looking to add additional, experienced staff to share surgery duties with Barb, she applied for the position.  Thanks to modern technology, we interviewed her using our cell phones, and then she made the flight over the small pond to visit us.  Valerie then moved to NC and joined our team  in September 2021.  She brings with her great motivation, and we are so glad to have her.
