About Our Veterinarians

John C. Harroff, DVM

John C. Harroff, DVM, grew up in Salem, Ohio and graduated from Ohio State University in 1969. Harroff's interests lie in small animal medicine and surgery in addition to ear cropping, after working at CAH since 1972. He is married with two daughters, Lauren and Lindsey. Haroff spends his time off racing horses, farming and fishing.

Dennis C. Orr, DVM

Dennis C. Orr, DVM, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S., before graduating from Cornell University with a DVM in 1986. Orr specializes in artificial insemination of dogs. He enjoys being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family members including Wife Paula and Sons, Dustin and Josh.

Beth A. Weiss, DVM

Beth A. Weiss, DVM grew up in Rockville, Maryland. She graduated with a B.S. from Virginia Tech before going on to graduate from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She has a passion for internal medicine after working at CAH since 1990. Weiss enjoys cooking, gardening and traveling with Husband Dave Miller.

Richard A. Aschenbrenner, DVM

Richard A. Aschenbrenner, DVM, was born in Illinois and raised in Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. Ag Degree and the University of Maryland-College Park with a M.S.Ag before attending the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Aschenbrenner graduated with a DVM in 1999, and began working at CAH the same year. He enjoys surgery, general and wildlife medicine.  Dr. Aschenbrenner enjoys listening to music, camping, hiking and playing sports and spending time with his family.

Jennifer Hawthorne, DVM

Jennifer Hawthorne, DVM, grew up in Roper, North Carolina. She graduated with both her B.S. and DVM from North Carolina State University in 2006. Since starting at CAH in 2007, her primary interest lies in radiology. She spends her time away from work hiking with her dogs, gardening and watching movies with Husband Shawn.

Cara Kluttz, DVM

Cara Marie Kluttz, DVM grew up in   Erie, Pennsylvania.  She attended Smith College and then Ohio State University. Dr. Kluttz started working at Cabarrus Animal Hospital, P.A. in 2009. She has a special interest in internal medicine. Her family life includes husband Brad and two sons Christian and Deshaun and of course pets include dogs: Carson, Cocoa, Eva, cats: Jill, Graytail, Squirrel, rabbits: Fluffy and Nekoda, goats: Emma and L.G., horses: Doc and Jane and chickens. During off time, Cara enjoys her family and pets.

E. Blake Peurifoy, DVM

E. Blake Peurifoy, DVM, graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. and went on to receive his DVM at Ross University. In 2005, Peurifoy started at CAH, and since has gained enthusiasm for orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and doing anything related to water like scuba diving, water skiing and fishing.


 

Mary Gochnauer, DVM

Mary Gochnauer, DVM, received her B.S. Degree in 2002, and went on to graduate from Ohio State University with a DVM Degree in 2006. She started at CAH the same year. When not at work, she spends much of her time in the outdoors and watching Buckeye football. She also enjoys playing with her dog and trail riding.
